Wii Dj Hero - What Should We Expect? By Henry Regman

It seems like the final release date for the Wii Dj Hero game has been set. It is expected for the fall of 2009. So what is it all about, and does the long waiting period is well worth it ?

This new innovative game that is using Activision's Hero formula from their well famous and successful games series "Guitar Hero" is going to use an exciting new control that will simulate a Dj's turntable.

The turntable Dj Hero controller is composed of 2 separate parts. The first part has the disk spinning like platform. In normal "traditional" Dj equipment you can normally find 2 of this kind while in the game control there is only one. It can turn back and forward like a real disk and it has 3 buttons. Since it has to simulate a real Dj platform, there is a button for each disk and the third is the sampling button.

On the other part of the game control there is a slider, changing from one disk to the other, another button that will give the player a free hand to free style just like the whammy bar in Guitar Hero, and last but not least what ids referred to as the euphoria button that is the equivalent to the star power in the Guitar series.

The game will feature well known musical hits from the hip-hop, electronic, R&B and other dance floor type of genres. There is going to be also some new exciting composed for the game tracks featuring Jay-Z and Eminem.

There are also good news for the fans of rap rock and rap metal, since the Wii Dj Hero control is going to be integrated into guitar hero as well in away that it will be able to add some spinning flavor into rock guitar classics.

I don't know about you but I can't wait to pre order Wii Dj Hero.

Wii Fit - Reinvents the Workout By Wendy Brighton

From the release of the game "Dance Dance Revolution", in 1998, the world got the taste for the "Exergames" and more and more games from the fitness genre were developed. One such game is the Wii Fit which was developed by Nintendo for the Wii console.

Released for the first time on December 1, 2007, in Japan, Wii Fit tries to be a solution to the fact that only in USA almost 1/3 of children are overweight. The game offers 40 different activities grouped into 4 categories of games / exercises: aerobic exercises, balance games, muscle workout and yoga training. It's important to mention from the beginning that all the exercises presented shouldn't be considered a real workout, but a mere warm - up. It's also true, that more games you play, more games you unlock and the difficulty rate gets higher and quite challenging for the inexperienced player.

The success of Wii Fit doesn't consist in the difficulty of the elements presented, but in the merge of fun elements with some fitness exercises designed for the entire family to play. The game comes together with a "Balance Board" which is able to communicate wirelessly with the console and to provide it with information on your BMI (Body Max Index), plus other accurate measurements on your time of reaction, speed and power. Practically, this system is similar to the ones used in rehabilitation and for sportsmen training.

Also very useful is the ability to set goals, to check on your progress and to benefit from a personal trainer. The interactivity with the games is done through the Mii avatars which you can personalize and which are a mirror image of yourself. The games are very fun to play with family and friends and you can easily get engrossed and forget that your are in fact doing exercises.

The Wii Fit kit comes together with the game software, the balance board, instructions and 4 AA batteries at a price of almost 90$, depending from where it is bought. Because the demand for such a game remains quite high, Wii Fit is still hard to find in stores.
